The ITER Project

18 October 2017

The ITER project’s objective is to generate large-scaled energy without emitting CO2 or radioactive waste.

The reactor called “Tokamak” will reproduce the operation of the Sun thanks to fusion of atoms.

Air Liquide supplies cryogenic equipment to cool superconducting electromagnets at temperatures close to -270 ° C.

MECA-INOX ball valves have been chosen by Air Liquide to equip the liquefying plants of Helium and Nitrogen.

More than 1200 type PS4, PY4 and PY4CY valves have been produced, assembled, tested with helium and validated according to the stringent requirements for this project, making MECA-INOX, the European reference for these applications.
